Who we are

The Radioxity Stop Motion Animation Academy is about enabling manpower and local capacity to execute world-class stop motion animated projects telling beautiful African stories.

With skills taught by industry legends, the new generation will use the beautiful art of stop motion to diversify the presentation of the African culture.

Created by the dynamic team at Radioxity Media with the triggering support of Berlinale Talents and Mastercard. A grand opportunity to pioneer stop motion development in underserved areas of Africa. We are putting up a programme designed to up skill talents in stop motion animation, puppet design and set fabrication.

director’s profile

Esther Kemi Gbadamosi is the Founder/Creative Director of Radioxity Media. A writer, cinematographer, editor and stop motion animator.

Her films have received several international filmmaking awards including Berlinale Mastercard Fellowship 2024, Berlinale Talents 2023, Winner MIFA Annecy 2022 Nigeria, selected for Animarkt Workhop 2023, Best Animation at the Inshort Film Festival 2021 in Lagos, Best Stop motion  animation LIFANIMA 2022, the Independent Short Awards Los Angeles for the Best Female Director, the Best Documentary at the Lake International Pan African Film Festival Kenya, Nominated for Best Animation at AFRIFF and AMAA Awards 2022 respectively.

She was also selected by the Durban FilmMart 2022 and Cape Town International Animation Festival 2022 to present her upcoming animated film ‘Prepared to Die‘. She was recently listed on the MIPTV Cannes Producers to watch 2023.

How it Works

How the RSMAA works

Training & Mentorship

After the initial open call to select a limited number of prequalifying candidates for the training, the first week will entail the final qualifying workshop to select the students who will participate in the six-month training and internship.

The next three weeks will be a hands-on training period with seasoned international experts. After which the 5-month internship at the Radioxity Media Studios.

Eligibility & Requirements

Participants are expected to have a strong artistic background in stop motion animation related arts with a good portfolio showcasing previous work as well as a decent capacity to work within a stop motion team.
